Blues painting john lee hooker detroit riotCURRENTLY SOLD OUT!

Paul recently completed a new blues painting inspired by the John Lee Hooker song "The Motor City is Burning".  The song is a soulful re-telling of the Detroit riots of 1967 that claimed the lives of 43 people. The riots also resulted in 1,189 injured, over 7,200 arrests, and more than 2,000 buildings were reduced to smouldering rubble.

Paul's painting features a portrait of hooker atop a flaming building with various scenes from the '67 riots throughout the painting. The results is a powerful image  that reflects the intensity of event itself.

Prints are now available. These beautiful reproductions are 24" X 18" glicee prints on museum quality, acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a natural smooth finish.
